Its a metallic tube made up of super duplex grade stainless steel. The DSS is used in applications to combine the advantages of ferritic steel and austenitic steel types. Naman Pipe & Tubes is a manufacturer and supplier of duplex pipes and tubes in various grades. There are standard, lean and super duplex materials available in seamless and welded conditions. The Super Duplex Seamless tube components are cold drawn and could be cold worked to improve the strength. The SDSS Welded tube components on the other hand are hot rolled and could be strengthened by heat treatment.
The major difference is that the seamless pipes have less absolute roughness or high precision. Our Super Duplex Tubing is used in various industries, especially the ones with high chloride ion rich environments. The sea water and marine applications prefer duplex materials because the corrosion stress resistance is very high with duplex pipes and tubes. There are SDSS Instrument Tubing materials that are used in producing different instruments used in boats, ships, medical industries and in petrochemical industries as well. The ASTM A789 Super Duplex Tube is manufactured by us to abide by the stress corrosion resistant grades with particular nominal wall thicknesses. Why super duplex tubing is known as high alloy tubing?
Super duplex is a grading category of duplex steel material. The duplex is a material combination of austenitic and ferritic steel structures. The super duplex grades have high amounts of chromium, nickel and molybdenum contents in their composition. For instance, the super duplex 2507 tubes has 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum and 0.27% nitrogen.
The high amount of alloying allows the other elements to be in only very less amounts. This combination brings about high toughness, corrosion resistance, heat resistance and durability to the material. Therefore the super duplex tubing is also known as the high alloy tubing because of the high mechanical and chemical properties of the alloys.
